Dear Members,

The Committee of the Deer Park Tennis Club Inc. would like to invite members and their friends to join a senior competition night tennis team for Spring 2023. You have plenty of time to organise your team. Then you'll be set to enjoy some competition night tennis during the best time of the year!! ENTRIES CLOSE 31st May, 2023.

Our club has a rich history of fielding competition teams in our local tennis associations, and we would be very pleased if you could consider forming a team to represent our club. Once you play a season of competition team tennis you'll be hooked.

We are particularily interested in calling on former junior competition players that have aged out of juniors and wish to bring your team together again to form your senior team, in either mens, ladies or mixed. That would be a great way to stay connected through tennis! Please contact your former team mates and let them know.

Also, we are very interested in fielding ladies or mixed teams. I'm sure there are lots of ladies that would love to join a team. Please let the club know if you're interested. We will field teams on a first in best dressed - teams are limited to six men's, six ladies and six mixed.

The new Spring 2023 night tennis season will begin in the first week of August.

• Men's team competition play on a Thursday evening from 7pm. Men's teams consist of four (4) men playing each week and at least one (1) additional man to rotate to make up a team of at least five (5) players can be registered.
• Ladies team competition play on a Tuesday evening from 7pm. Ladies teams consist of four (4) ladies playing each week and at least one (1) additional lady to rotate to make up a team of at least five (5) players can be registered.
• Mixed team competition play on a Wednesday evening from 7pm. Mixed teams consist of two (2) ladies and two (2) men each week and at least one (1) man and one (1) lady to rotate to make up a team of at least six (6) players, three (3) ladies and three (3) men, can be registered.

All teams are graded A to D which caters for beginners. A great way to develop your game and meet tennis players from other clubs!

The club committee are inviting all members to play competition night tennis with the club in Autumn 2022, subject to current and future Covid-19 rules. Men play on a Thursday evening, Ladies on a Tuesday evening and Mixed doubles on a Wednesday evening, with play starting at 7pm. For more information regarding the format please refer to www.nsnta.org or email the club. We are expecting strong demand, so please register your interest ASAP!

As we know the current Thursday men's NSNTA Spring night tennis season was cancelled due to Covid-19. We are now planning to enter teams in the Autumn 2022 NSNTA night tennis season, subject to the ever changing Covid-19 regulations, which must be submitted to the association by 26th November, 2021. The Autumn 2022 season will start in February, 2022.

We invite you to advise the club if you intend to play next season before the 19th November, 2021, so that we can select our teams for submission to the NSNTA. Players that have paid their fees, $54 (first nine matches @ $6/match) will not need to pay. However, if you have not paid your fees, please make payment to our club bank account BSB 06 3253 A/c 1095 6580. Memberships can also be paid if they have expired. Team captains can email the club to let the club know if your team will be the same as registered for Spring 2021. Can you please discuss with your team mates? We may have new players forming teams or wishing to join a team, so our numbers are limited to six teams of five players each. Please note that we have received many enquiries about team tennis and demand will be strong. First in first selected. Please do not delay, or you may miss out.

Hi All Members,

The committee would like to invite you, your family and friends to play competition night tennis with our club next season. Applications are now open.

The new Spring season of 14 rounds, begins in the first week of August, 2021 with ladies playing Tuesday evenings, mixed (two ladies and two men) playing on Wednesday evenings and men play on a Thursday evening. All matches, home and away, commence at 7pm and generally finish at approximately 9pm. All matches involve teams of four players, playing a team total of six sets of doubles. ie.- each player plays three sets, one set with each other player in the team. Teams of at least five players are selected by the club, and players rotate each week, so that all players play an even number of matches. The top four teams in each grade play a final knockout series to decide the premier.

If you, your family or your friends would like to be considered, please complete the application form and return to the club by 30th May, 2021 via return email or our club PO Box 2069 Brimbank Central, Deer Park, Victoria 3023. Our club bank account details are.- BSB 06 3253 A/c 1095 6580. All players must be financial members of the club and pay fees with registration. The club can only select a maximum of six teams in each category, three home and three away, so that each of our "home" teams have two courts each to play their match. Please note that teams will be selected on a first in basis, with complete registration requirements.

In light of the Victorian Government’s State of Emergency declaration due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus yesterday, and advice from Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria, all of our association competition team tennis has been suspended until further notice in the best interests of our community and the general public.
NSNTA and NSJTA competition players and parents are advised to keep updated by looking the the tennis association websites www.nsjta.asn.au and www.nsnta.org

Our members will still have access to the courts, however, please exercise care, be mindful of your health risks and take particular attention to government and health department advice regarding your movements during this State of Emergency. Do not gather in large groups and avoid close proximity to others. IF YOU ARE UNWELL PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. DO NOT PUT OTHERS AT RISK.

The situation will be carefully monitored by the associations to determine when it will be most appropriate to recommence the competitions and we would like to thank you for your understanding.

As our revenue will be impacted greatly, the committee would appreciate if you could please pay outstanding membership fees at your earliest convenience to our bank club bank account.- BSB 06 3253 A/c 1095 6580.
